Synopsis: Inspired by true events. In the 1920s, one of the California desert’s most successful gold miners, Johnny Lang, struck fortune in the hills. But his legacy turned dark. His son reportedly suffered mercury poisoning from the mine, which drove him into madness and violence. This film imagines a modern descendant — Johnny’s great -grandson — returning to the desert with his best friend to uncover what really happened to Johnny’s son and the family’s lost fortune.
